THE VALLE D’AOSTA REGION
The Valle d’Aosta is a region of Northern Italy particularly rich in colour, culture, history and tradition. It owes its fame above all to the castles, fortified houses and the towers that lie along its central and lateral valleys. All told, the numerous mountain peaks of 4000 m and over - Mont Blanc (Monte Bianco), Matterhorn (Monte Cervino) and Monte Rosa amongst the best known - and the Gran Paradiso National Park, attract skiers, alpinists and trekking lovers.
